Pablo Ruiz Picasso is unanimously known as one of the most important artists in the history of art, and perhaps, the one who most influenced the twentieth century. With a full academic background, he would soon be interested in the innovative movements of the end of the century. Along with Georges Braques, he founded cubism, an artistic movement crucial in the evolution of the avant-garde art. But beyond that, the artist displayed an unexhausted versatility and imagination, being at the same time a painter and a drawer, sculptor, ceramist, theatre designer and writer. Always the object of public attention, due to the numerous expositions, publications and news he still appears in, he remains an emblematic figure of the modern art.
